<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The article analyzes the raw material orientation of the development of the Angara-Yenisei macroregion, which unites four regions of Eastern Siberia: Krasnoyarsk Krai, Irkutsk Oblast, the Republic of Khakassia, and the Republic of Tyva. However, large-scale investments in projects to develop resource potential do not lead to the development of related sectors of the economy, as well as an increase in the level and quality of life of the population of the macro-region. In this regard, the international experience of the most successful socioeconomic development of resource regions is studied, the main factors and mechanisms that allow these regions to achieve not only sustainable economic growth rates, but also high indicators of social well-being are identified.
