Analysis of Factors Affecting the Volume of Paid Medical Services in the Region: an Econometric Study Based on the Republic of Mari El
EDN: FCQSEL
Abstract
In the context of increasing commercialization of healthcare, studying the factors determining the volume of paid medical services is particularly important for resource management and the development of regional strategies. This article, based on data from 36 medical organizations in the Republic of Mari El, presents the results of a comprehensive analysis of the key determinants of revenue from paid services using factor and cluster analysis. Seven latent factors were identified, explaining 77.57% of the data variance, with the most influential factors being technical equipment (F1), facility scale (F2), and revenue dependence on paid services (F3). Clustering enables to identify five types of organizations with distinct business models: mass market, specialists, budgetary institutions, multidisciplinary centers, and premium class. The study's results can be used to optimize the management of paid services in healthcare, as well as to develop investment decisions and marketing strategies for medical organizations.
